COVID-19 updates for business

Calgary’s outdoor patio applications open now

Outdoor patios are allowed to operate under current COVID-19 restrictions, and applications for the City of Calgary’s outdoor patio licenses and permits are now open. Successful applicants can build a patio on public or private land, and the application process is quicker for businesses who applied last year. To get started, contact the City of Calgary’s Planning Services Centre at 403-268-5311, and apply for both a temporary and permanent permit at the same time.

Extension of Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant (SMERG)

Alberta small and mid-sized companies that have seen revenues decline by at least 30 per cent because of public health restrictions will be eligible to receive up to $10,000 of additional support through a new round of the relaunch grant. The application portal is expected to open next week.
