Chamber Pulse

The heartbeat of the business community

As Calgary powers back up and we settle into a new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses are pivoting their operations, neighbours are supporting each other, and the Calgary community is coming together like it has done so many times before to overcome this crisis.

The Calgary's Resilient Business Awards and Gala is an opportunity to recognize some of Calgary's greatest businesses, leaders, and our community as a whole.

Together we will celebrate the strength, resiliency, and perseverance that our city has shown in the face of the global pandemic and economic hardship that it has caused.

If you haven't done so already, apply to one of the awards below today!

There are six award categories to apply for depending on the size of your company, community impact, leadership, and diversity:
  • Resilient Business Awards A celebration of those in our community who showed resiliency, compassion, and determination during COVID-19. Three awards will be given out based on size of business: The Micro-Business Award (under 10 employees), The RBC Small and Medium Business Award (10-150 employees), and the Corporate Enterprise Award (150+ employees)
  • ATB Community Impact Award Together with ATB, we’re recognizing the business who had the largest impact in the community.
  • Resilient Business Leader Award Taking note of a leader who showed compassion, demonstrated a forward-thinking mindset, and led from the heart during the COVID-19 crisis.
  • TD Diversity and Inclusion Award Together with TD, we’re celebrating the business that best recognizes the range of human differences and involves and values them as strengths.

Eliminating interprovincial trade barriers could lift nation’s GDP by four per cent

The CEOs of Canada’s nine largest chambers of commerce – from regions that are home to over half of the country’s population and businesses – try and fail to send locally-produced goods, such as alcohol, to each other. Why? Because interprovincial trade barriers prevent it.
