With less than one week to go until the municipal election, we highlight a few key policy pieces, including local priorities for businesses and one of the referendums on the ballot.
This fall, call on Calgary’s next Mayor and City Council to make it easier to do business in Calgary.
We need to make it simple and straightforward to start, scale-up and grow a business in Calgary. We also need an ecosystem that facilitates business-to-business and business-to-consumer connections and collaborations.
A primer on Alberta's equalization referendum
On the ballot there will also be a question about whether equalization payments should be removed from the constitution. Ahead of the election, we've partnered with Business Council of Alberta and the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce for an in-depth primer on the issue and what it could mean for your business and our province.
Supports for businesses implementing REP
The Calgary Business Support Grant launches today, providing $2,000 to businesses impacted by the Provincial Restrictions Exemption Program (REP). In addition, the provincial government will be launching the REP Implementation Grant in the coming weeks, which will provide businesses with an additional $2,000.
